Prime Video recently announced that the Indian Original series *Citadel: Honey Bunny* emerged as the most-watched show worldwide on the platform during its opening weekend. Directed by Raj & DK and starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha, this Indian adaptation of the *Citadel* franchise resonated with a global audience, streaming in 200 countries and reaching the Top 10 in nearly 150 of them, including major regions such as the US, UK, France, Italy, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and the UAE. The series achieved the number one spot on Prime Video in India and over 30 other countries, reinforcing the growing international popularity of non-English content.

James Farrell, VP of International Originals at Prime Video, highlighted that the success of *Citadel: Honey Bunny* illustrates the global appeal of local stories. Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that Indian content is capturing audiences across borders. The positive reception of this action-packed spy thriller signifies a broader appreciation for diverse narratives that transcend cultural barriers.

Directors Raj & DK expressed enthusiasm about working on a project that allowed them to collaborate with global talents and contribute to a broader narrative universe. They enjoyed integrating nostalgic elements from 90s cinema into the world of *Honey Bunny*, noting that the reception from audiences both in India and abroad has been exceptional. Angela Russo-Otstot, Executive Producer at AGBO, praised the creative efforts of the cast and writer Sita Menon, acknowledging the outstanding performances by Samantha and Varun Dhawan.

In related news, Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in *Anupama*, is facing public controversy following accusations from her stepdaughter Esha Verma, who alleges that Rupali and her husband Ashwin K Verma contributed to her parents' separation and have been abusive. In response, Rupali has filed a defamation lawsuit seeking Rs. 50 crores in damages. This legal battle drew additional attention when actress Payal Rohatgi criticized Rupali's demand for compensation, suggesting it was excessive and implied financial difficulties. Payal’s comments fueled further debate online.

Rupali’s *Anupama* cast and her legal team have defended her, noting the mental and professional toll the accusations have taken. Her lawyer clarified that Rupali’s legal action aims to protect her reputation amid these serious allegations. Rupali married Ashwin K Verma in 2013, and they have one son together.
